Alex Wilson

Alex Wilson started his career in News editing for tv3 in Auckland New Zealand. While there he edited live sports events, children and young adult programming, along with the stories for local edition of 20/20.

Next stage, Alex worked for Television New Zealand focusing on On-line Editing on air promotions. While at TVNZ Alex’s duties extended to on-line editing of full length programs as well as off -line editing of content which ranged widely from Magazine sports shows, to gardening, to MTV segments.

Post Production facility Flying Start Pictures specializes in Television commercials. This was a period of great creative growth as Alex worked closely with a wide range of advertising agencies and freelance directors with vast international experience. Alex both off-lined and on-lined commercials for retail chains and brands such as Universal Music, Mazda, KFC, Pizza Hut, Daihatsu, Farmers.

Alex then headed over to a Senior Editor’s position at STAR TV in Hong Kong. He trained numerous editors and producers in Avid and Final Cut Pro. STAR’s content required editing in multiple languages and with a view of reflecting the different cultural values and ideals from Asia to the Pacific Rim.

Alex then freelanced in Hong Kong and the Middle East.

Now staff at APV in Hong Kong Alex’s ability to multitask has meant he directs, field produces, edits and even operates the cameras.
